Frequently Asked Questions

What types of massage do you offer?

I offer therapeutic massage treatments tailored to your specific needs. This can include techniques for pain relief, injury recovery, tension reduction, or general relaxation. Each session can be adjusted in pressure and focus to meet your goals.

How long is a typical session?

Sessions are typically 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes, depending on your needs. A one-hour treatment is most common and allows enough time to address multiple areas/ “full body” or focus more deeply on specific concerns. For a first visit it may take some extra time to discuss your goals and decide how to approach the massage so this may make the hands on/ massage time shorter.

What should I wear during the massage?

You can undress to your comfort level. Most people undress the areas they want treated, but it’s entirely up to you. You’ll be draped with a sheet and blanket the entire time, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

Can I ask for specific areas to be focused on?

Absolutely. Each session is customized, so you can choose to focus on certain areas, like your back, neck, or shoulders. We’ll discuss your goals at the start to make sure the treatment meets your needs.

Do you accept insurance or provide receipts for benefits?

I provide official receipts with my registration number, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Direct billing is not available unfortuantely so payment is required at the time of the massage session.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No referral is required to book a massage. However, some insurance plans may ask for one if you plan to submit a claim, so it’s best to check your coverage details beforehand.
If you have any underlying health concerns like heart or circulation issues, recent surgeries, neurological conditions, respiratory difficulties, or are undergoing cancer treatment it can be helpful to check with your doctor to ensure massage therapy is safe for you.”

What’s the difference between relaxation and therapeutic massage?

Relaxation massage is focused on general stress relief and calming the nervous system. Therapeutic massage addresses specific concerns like pain, tension, or restricted movement. In practice, many sessions blend both approaches—helping you feel better while promoting long-term results.
